So, people at work have decided to have a biggest loser competition. The goal is to lose weight and decrease your BMI, i guess. There are 5 prizes. The person who loses the biggest percentage of weight will win $500. And the four runners up will win $250. Awesome! .....right?
Well, not really. Sure, there are people at work who can participate, but there are also lots of people at work who are perfectly fine with their weight and bmi. If those people lost weight, it would be bad. So, good for people who can try to lose weight, bad for people who can't because they have absolutely no chance to win any of the prizes.
Competitions at work that have money prizes should be designed so that all employees can participate. You can't have a competition where only part of the employees have a chance to win. You need to find a way to include everyone, or it's not fair! It's good that you're encouraging a healthier lifestyle, but you need to include people who already live healthy lifestyles.
As for me, I'm one of the lucky people who does have a chance to win this competition. So, watch out, Shakira, Danielle is coming! And I'm going to win my $500.
